General Ideas:
In this week, the group succeeded in constructing the entire circuit consisting of amplifier circuit and ADC circuit. Furthermore, the algorithm of the sound monitoring system has been optimized as well. Next, in order to protect the circuit from damaging, the circuit was packaged. Finally, the design of poster is finished in this week.

Experience of the Experiment:
1.   Reconstruct the sound monitoring system
For the purpose of stability and beauty, the circuit was reconstructed in the lab. Differentiating from the previous circuit, the length of wires and pins were cut so that the components can be fixed in the breadboard. The entire circuit is shown as Figure 1 below.

2.   The Optimization of Algorithm
As for the algorithm part, the original one was optimized in this week. In detailed, the first part that needed to be optimized is the progress of calculating the voltage level of noise. The final design is to calculate the average value based on 50 measured value.

Apart from that, the second part that needed to be optimized is the process of calculating dB value of the noise. The first step the group did is to calibrate the microphone due to the unique characteristic of each microphone. What the group did is to compare the actual voltage level with a noise having a particular dB value. After choosing around 20 points, the formula of calculating dB value can be simulated by MATLAB. The result of simulation is shown as Figure 2 below.

3.   Poster
The poster of introducing the sound monitoring system is finished as well.

Conclusion:

The whole design of sound monitoring system is completed on time. The hardware and software part are both finished.
